JACKSONVILLE, N.C. — A Jacksonville man is facing assault charges after police say he attacked another person with a pizza spatula, a pot of boiling water and repeated punches.
Nicholas Simms, 45, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and simple assault.
Court records say the alleged assault happened June 11.
According to those records, Simms is accused of using a pizza spatula and a pot of boiling water during the assault. Authorities describe the pot of boiling water as a deadly weapon.
Records also allege Simms repeatedly punched the victim in the head and body.
Jacksonville Police arrested Simms on August 24. He was taken to the Onslow County Jail and received a $10,000 secured bond following his first court appearance Monday.
