PALM CITY, Fla. (CBS12) — A large law enforcement perimeter is in place in a Palm City neighborhood as deputies search for a hit-and-run suspect who fled on foot Wednesday afternoon.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office is urging residents in the area of SW Rivers End Way and the Windstone community to use extreme caution and do not approach the suspect.

The suspect is described as a Black man wearing a black shirt with blue writing on the back and black pants. He was last seen running westbound into the Windstone community.
Multiple K-9 units and air support have been deployed as deputies continue the search.
Anyone who sees the suspect is urged to call 911 immediately.
