FORT PIERCE – A Fort Pierce woman was arrested on Aug. 22, having allegedly passed two counterfeit $50 bills for a food order, according to the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office Facebook posting.
Adrianna Marie Sheppard, 19, of Fort Pierce, was charged with fraud – utter false bank bill, note, check or draft; possession of counterfeited bank bill, check or draft; and larceny – other theft.
Deputies responded to a reported theft involving a food order from a local Italian restaurant, in which a delivery driver claimed he was given two counterfeit $50 bills as payment for an $83.90 order.
During the investigation, Patrol Operations Bureau deputies received information from dispatch that the suspected individual was staying at a residence in the 6800 block of Miramar Avenue in Fort Pierce. Deputies responded to the residence, located the suspect and positively identified her as the person who had provided the counterfeit bills to the delivery driver, according to the Facebook posting.
Sheppard was taken to the St. Lucie County Jail where she remained as of Aug. 25 on a $12,500 bond.
