PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — The Port St. Lucie Police Department is clearing up an inaccurate social media post circulating Thursday claiming there was an active shooting near U.S. 1 and Walton Road.
PSLPD said it received no calls for service involving an active shooter. The activity residents may have seen was related to a search warrant executed by the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team at a home on Southeast West Dunbrooke Circle as part of an ongoing criminal investigation.

While some residents reported hearing gunshots, law enforcement said the sounds were flash-bang devices used during the operation. The yelling heard in the area was officers giving commands to occupants leaving the home.
The Port St. Lucie Police Department gave no further details on the criminal investigation officers were responding to.
