‘I don’t know that that progress is ever done because it’s going to be probably a couple different iterations between now and the beginning of the season or even beginning of the season to the end of the season,” Udinski said.
“You’re never satisfied, you’re never necessarily content with it, but it’s really enjoyable to see those guys progress in their communication and chemistry working together – whether it’s in the protection game, picking up twist games, or whether it’s in the run game identifying different fronts.
“Really excited about the future and outlook of that group.”
Pregnon has been among camp’s most interesting storylines, with the third-round rookie entering the summer as a backup. Pregnon has worked with the starters in each practice recently – including the final joint practices over the last week with the Carolina Panthers and the Buccaneers.
“He has done an awesome job,” Lawrence said of Pregnon. “He plays hard, he’s huge, he’s strong, you can tell he cares. That’s the first thing you notice.
“Then mentally, it has not been too much for him. Obviously, he is a rookie and there’s still a lot to learn and there are looks every day that you can teach off of, but he’s not lost at all. He knows what he’s doing. There are a lot of plays we can clean up, but as far as knowing what he’s doing and playing hard, he’s got that down. I think he’s protected well. He’s been moving people in the run game. He’s athletic.
“He’s done an awesome job, so I think we got a bunch of guys up front that can play and play well and I love what I’m seeing from E-man.”
