JACKSONVILLE, N.C. — A Jacksonville man is behind bars without bond after police arrested him on 16 child exploitation charges.
The Jacksonville Police Department arrested 45-year-old Nicholas Paul Brackett on Wednesday, Aug. 26.
Court records show Brackett is charged with 16 counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Six counts are listed in one set of warrants, while another set lists 10 additional counts.
The warrants allege Brackett possessed material depicting an unknown prepubescent child engaged in sexual activity. Court records say the alleged offenses happened in April 2023.
Brackett is being held at the Onslow County Jail without bond. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance Thursday, Aug. 27.
