HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) – A routine afternoon traffic stop in North Tampa on Thursday ended with a woman behind bars on several drug possession charges, according to sheriff’s deputies.
Rebecca Evans, 44, was arrested following the traffic stop on August 27, 2026, around 5:13 p.m.
Deputies initiated the stop near the intersection of East Fletcher Avenue and North 20th Street. Investigators say deputies subsequently developed probable cause to search the vehicle.
During the search, deputies uncovered a substantial cache of illicit substances, including:
CocaineOxycodone pillsMDMA (Ecstasy) pillsCannabinoid ediblesA tray of sativa cannabis resin
Evans was taken into custody without incident. She now faces multiple felony charges, including:
Possession of a Controlled Substance (three counts)Possession of CocainePossession of Cannabis Sativa Resin
