CUTLER BAY, Fla. — A 40-year-old Homestead man was released from jail after posting bond early Wednesday after deputies said he opened fire on cyclists in Cutler Bay this past weekend.
According to an arrest report, the incident happened at about 7:30 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Southwest 87th Avenue and 184th Street.
The report states Raimiero Rios was driving a black SUV south on Southwest 87th Avenue when he began honking at two cyclists who were also traveling south.

Rios then swerved the SUV toward the cyclists, forcing one of them off the roadway, according to the report.
Deputies said Rios then struck the second cyclist with the SUV.
After the collision, Rios pulled out a gun and fired a round in the direction of the cyclist, according to the report.
The incident was captured on video.
Grant Cordery is an avid cyclist who runs a bike shop in Deerfield Beach.
Cordery is friends with members of the cycling group that was involved in the incident.
“It’s disgusting in my opinion, and I think I speak for all cyclists that we just want to be treated with the same respect,” he said. “A vehicle is definitely a weapon. I think there just needs to be more patience in the world and more respect in the world, for sure.”
Deputies who responded to the scene said they found a bullet hole in the ground. No injuries were reported.
Residents in the area told Local 10’s Roy Ramos that the area where the incident occurred is popular with riders.
“I saw two cyclists sitting on the grass with their bikes lying beside them, and I saw two police officers,” said Kathy Javach, who was driving in the area at the time of the incident.
Witnesses said Rios took off before deputies arrived but later turned himself in.
Jail records show he is facing one count each of aggravated assault with a firearm, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm from a vehicle.
He posted a $15,000 bond and was released from the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center early Wednesday. He declined to comment to Local 10 News and covered his face as he left the jail.
