Captured from stage-right level, musician Dave 1 reclines back on a stage riser with his legs crossed, wearing dark trousers and black leather boots. Adjacent to him stands a chrome synthesizer stand custom-shaped like a pair of women's mannequin legs, illuminated by blue stage lighting, atmosphere haze, and light beams.Chromeo plays Jannus Live in St. Petersburg, Florida on Sept. 24, 2024. After watching Chromeo get rained out during Gasparilla Music Festival 2023, downtown Tampa is getting another chance to dance with the Canadian electro-duo.

Water Street Tampa says that David “Dave 1” Macklovitch and Patrick “P-Thugg” Gemayel will do a DJ set this fall for the fourth annual “Beats on the Street.”

The no-cover festival—set for Saturday, Sept. 26—happens on seven main stages scattered throughout the neighborhood. The rest of the lineup includes about two dozen homegrown artists including Florida jazz-pop outfit Prizilla, soulful Bay area songwriter Kristopher James, a duo set from songwriters Ari Chi and Javier Solaris, plus jazz trio La Lucha with special guests.

Multi-instrumentalist Joe Cosas (touring musician for Jon Anderson from Yes) is also part of a trio that includes Chris Flowers and Chris Barbosa.

DJs are a huge part of the lineup, with sets by Kevinkon, Deacon, DJ Ku, Frikidonya, Fader and others on the bill.

Some of the Bay area’s up-and-comingest young bands (Chaunces Trio, Aliqua, Tries & Friends) are also playing Beats On The Street. Hector Mayoral comes out of hibernation to bring his Latin folk project Acho Brother to the stage, too. See a full lineup below.

Water Street Tampa: Beats on the Street 2026 stages

Beats on the Streets’ biggest stages are at the corner of Water Street and E Cumberland Avenue, the Sparkman Wharf parking lot, and the Columbia stage outside of the Tampa Bay History Center. Other venues like the Tampa Edition, Alter Ego, Predalina, and even Publix will have music, too, according to the Beats on the Street stage chart.

A graphic map legend and site map header titled "STEP TO THE STAGE" for the 2026 Beats on the Street music festival at Water Street Tampa. Set against a light cream background, the top section displays seven color-coded performance zone icons and labels, including the red Water Street Stage (W), green Tampa Sign Stage (T), blue Silent Disco (SD), purple Dueling Pianos (DP), pink Sparkman Wharf Stage (SW), green DJ Deacon stage (DJ), and a pink speaker icon labeled Ambient. Below the key, a yellow neighborhood street map highlights the festival footprint along Water Street and surrounding intersections.Beats on the Streets 2026 stage map Credit: Water Street Tampa

The festival, which is free-to-attend and safe for all ages, is hosted in collaboration with Gasparilla Music Festival, and proceeds benefit GMF’s Recycled Tunes program, which refurbishes gently-used musical instruments before placing them back in Hillsborough public schools.

There’s no-cover for Beats on the Street happening Saturday, Sept. 26 across Water Street Tampa.
