Thanksgiving promises to be more expensive in 2025 and more elusive for those already in need of help or experiencing hunger or homelessness. Here is where you can donate or volunteer to ensure they can celebrate with a turkey dinner:

Harry Chapin Food Bank collecting turkeys, hams

Harry Chapin Food Bank has launched a Thanksgiving Frozen Turkey & Ham Drive to help its agency partners across Southwest Florida fill the tables those people experiencing hunger this holiday season.

Through Nov. 20, the nonprofit is collecting wrapped, frozen turkeys and hams of all sizes to share with partner organizations that will be distributing Thanksgiving meal kits or hosting Thanksgiving meals for community members across Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry and Lee counties.

Harry Chapin is accepting donations of frozen turkeys and hams from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays through Thursday, Nov. 20, at the nonprofit’s primary distribution centers:

Lee County: 3760 Fowler St. in Fort Myers

Collier County: 3940 Prospect Ave., Unit 101 in Naples

Harry Chapin Food Bank is accepting monetary donations for the Turkey & Ham Drive through a secure online portal at JustGiving.com/campaign/turkeyham25.

Harry Chapin Food Bank, a Feeding America partner food bank, is the largest hunger-relief organization in Southwest Florida.

Capital Wealth Advisors, St. Matthews House partner for Turkey Drop

Capital Wealth Advisors will once again partner with St. Matthews House on the 21st Annual CWA Turkey Drop. During this food drive, more than 200 volunteers will gather at the First Naples Church parking lot to collect and pack food boxes for distribution to individuals and families experiencing hardship.

Starting November 17, meal boxes will be distributed by CWA and other community partners working with St. Matthew’s House to low-income families, those with disabilities, senior citizens and veterans across a series of distribution locations throughout Collier and Lee counties. Information on distribution locations and dates can be found at stmatthewshouse.org.

The public is encouraged to participate in Turkey Drop from Nov. 3 through Nov. 14 by donating frozen turkeys, canned goods and other nonperishable items at the St. Matthew’s House donation drop off at 2601 Airport Rd. S. in Naples, Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The public also can participate by purchasing a meal for a family in need. Each meal box feeds a family of four to six and includes a turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, cranberry sauce, stuffing and pie. To purchase a meal or for more details on Turkey Drop, visit www.cwaturkeydrop.com.
