Tampa General Medical Group has opened a 6,100-square-foot primary care facility in The Shoppes at Yellow Pine at Babcock Ranch. The clinic provides adult and pediatric primary care, preventive care and on-site laboratory services.

Charlotte County has another medical option at Babcock Ranch, where the community has partnered with Tampa General Hospital to open Tampa General Medical Group, serving adults and children.
The 6,100-square-foot medical center, which opened earlier in August, provides preventive care and on-site lab services.
“When we set out to build Babcock Ranch, we wanted a town where healthcare for all ages was conveniently available in the community,” said Syd Kitson, founder of the master-planned community.

TGMG Babcock Ranch is led by Tampa General provider Kelly Babbie, an advanced practice registered nurse. The comprehensive medical center provides services ranging from routine checkups and wellness exams to lab work, according to officials. The lab also accepts outside lab orders, helping address a gap in local services.
The center marks the third milestone in Babcock Ranch’s partnership with TGH, one of the nation’s leading academic health systems, and completes the vision of bringing a total of 12,500 square feet of medical care to the community.
In addition to Tampa General Medical Group, Babcock Ranch’s healthcare services include TGH Urgent Care Powered by Fast Track, a 6,500-square-foot facility that treats common illnesses and minor injuries seven days a week.
The TGH Innovation Hub offers personalized care navigation for TGH patients, including appointment scheduling, specialist referrals both inside and outside the TGH network, and connections to community health resources and support.
Babcock Ranch recently celebrated the opening of TGMG Babcock Ranch, a continuation of its successful partnership with Tampa General Hospital.

Located at The Shoppes at Yellow Pine, 42040 Cypress Parkway, Suite 3, the medical facility is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Lab hours are weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Charlotte County has experienced significant growth. From June 2023 to October 2025, the county grew 16.9%, underscoring the need for additional medical facilities, according to consulting firm Metro Forecasting Models, which has contracted with the county to provide statistical data.
ShorePoint Health Punta Gorda near downtown Punta Gorda closed in late September 2024 following flooding from Hurricane Helene. AdventHealth has plans for a medical facility in the city, but residents in Punta Gorda and surrounding areas currently must travel to Port Charlotte or farther north or south for hospital care.
HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital operates in Port Charlotte, while HCA Florida Englewood Hospital and other options are available in southern Sarasota County. AdventHealth also provides healthcare services in the Port Charlotte area. In Babcock Ranch’s early years of development, residents generally had to travel to Lee County or Punta Gorda for many of their healthcare needs.
