QUINCY (WGEM) – After a brief two-game skid, Quincy Notre Dame volleyball found their footing back home at “The Pit,” sweeping Jacksonville in straight sets (2-0) to improve to 6-2 on the season.
The Lady Raiders, who opened the season winning ten consecutive sets, faced early trouble in the first set, falling behind 7-4. Leah Terwelp sparked the offense with a powerful kill, initiating a six-point run that put QND in front. Sierra Thomas, an all-state soccer standout showcasing her versatility on the court delivered a crushing kill to help secure the first set 25-19.
QND carried that momentum into the second set, sealing the match sweep on a decisive block by Cadence Smith at match point.
