Florida officials identify woman killed after alligator on I-95 triggers chain-reaction crash
BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. —
Florida authorities have identified a woman who died in a hit-and-run chain-reaction crash on I-95 in Brevard County caused by an alligator.
The victim was identified as Cassi Taylor, a 20-year-old woman from Palm Bay.

The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office said Taylor was set to be sworn in as a civilian corrections assistant with the department on Monday.
The sheriff’s office said she was the daughter of a deputy there.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the crash occurred just before midnight when a 58-year-old man from Canada struck an alligator while driving south on I-95 in Titusville.
Troopers said Taylor, who was driving behind the man, swerved, lost control, overturned and was ejected from her truck.
They said Taylor was not wearing a seatbelt.
Troopers also said a third driver ran over Taylor and did not stop.
Authorities are still searching for the driver involved in the hit-and-run.
