The first Monday of September is upon us.
Tampa Bay residents can expect post offices, local government offices and most banks to be closed on Labor Day, Sept. 7.
What will trash collection look like during the holiday week? What stores are open to run errands? What about the pharmacies?
Here’s what to know.
Labor Day trash collection
Hillsborough County / Tampa: There will be no curbside collection on Labor Day. If your collection date falls on a holiday, services will resume on the next regularly-scheduled collection day.
St. Petersburg: Monday collections will be made on Tuesday. Tuesday collections will be made on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday collections remain the same.
Grocery stores
Costco will be closed on Labor Day.
Publix: Yes, it’s open, along with its pharmacy. The grocer is only closed for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter.
Walmart and Target locationswill be open on Sept. 7.
Costco is closed, but BJ’s Wholesale Club and Sam’s Club remain open.
Aldi, Sprouts Farmers Market, Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods are operating on Labor Day. Be sure to check your local store for any modified hours.
Most CVS and Walgreens stores are open, but pharmacy counters are typically closed or have reduced hours.
