JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was arrested and accused Wednesday of fatally shooting another man back in October 2025, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.
JSO said on Oct. 1, 2025, officers responded to a local hospital after a man identified as Javaris Perkins, 24, was dropped off with a gunshot wound to his chest. He later died at the hospital.
The accused shooter, Jamari Wyche, 20, was arrested in an unrelated armed robbery case less than two weeks after Perkins died, JSO said.
Wyche is already in the Duval County Jail and now faces a murder charge.
