The week two of the high school football season in Florida is complete, and there was some tremendous performances in the Florida Panhandle last weekend.

For the first player of the week poll of the 2026 season for the Florida Panhandle, we have narrowed our list of nominees of 10 players that stood out across the region.

Last week was also intriguing based on the performances that we saw as numerous teams across the panhandle had players that put together dominant rushing performances on the ground. If that trend continues for the rest of the season, the Florida Panhandle will have some of the top rushing attacks in the state for 2026.

Voting will close on September 6 at 11:59 PT. The winner will be announced in next week’s poll.

About Our Athlete of the Week Voting
High School On SI voting polls are meant to be a fun, lighthearted way for fans to show support for their favorite athletes and teams. Our goal is to celebrate all of the players featured, regardless of the vote totals.

Sometimes one athlete will receive a very large number of votes — even thousands — and that’s okay! The polls are open to everyone and are simply a way to build excitement and community around high school sports.

Unless we specifically announce otherwise, there are no prizes or official awards for winning. The real purpose is to highlight the great performances of every athlete included in the poll.
