Katy Perry is celebrating her legendary lover and reflecting on the one that got away.
On Wednesday, the “Firework” singer looked back on the past year of her life in honor of the theatrical release of her concert film, Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour – Live from Paris. While she said “a lot of people said I couldn’t do it and gave me a lot of flak,” Perry expressed pride in completing her 91-show world tour. She admitted though that it wasn’t without its challenges.
In the middle of her tour, which began in April 2025, news broke that Perry had split from her longtime partner, Orlando Bloom. The stars, who share 6-year-old daughter Daisy Dove, parted ways in June 2025, after nearly a decade together.
“It was probably the hardest time,” Perry told Entertainment Weekly’s sister publication, PEOPLE, in an interview published on Wednesday. “My friends were all hanging out back home. I was crying and just feeling far away. But then my angels went to work. They really showed up.”
And in the wake of that heartbreak, the “Hot N Cold” singer shared that she found new love in Justin Trudeau, with whom she was first spotted getting cozy in July 2025. After the former Canadian prime minister supported the artist at her shows, the pair made their relationship official that October, with an outing in Paris on Perry’s 41st birthday.

“I learned how to step back into my purpose,” Perry said of the Lifetimes tour. “And I got the greatest gift from this tour: I got to meet the love of my life.”
Perry said “things shifted” after she met Trudeau on her tour. The “Dark Horse” artist believed that she manifested their romance, explaining that she wrote down a list of 10 wishes for her life.
“No. 10 just says, ‘True Love.’ And I think that’s where we’re at,” she continued.

Perry has previously been open about the difficulties she experienced last year. During the world premiere of her concert film at the Tribeca Film Festival this past June, Perry called 2025 “one of the hardest years of my life.”
“I went through a f— ton,” she said at the time. “And there were days that were really, really, really hard. And I just kept going because I made a promise to my fans, a promise to my daughter, and a promise to myself.”
