Cloudy, breezy & humid today with a chance for some showers this Labor Day Weekend

  • September 3, 2026

A wet and unsettled pattern continues across Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia as deep tropical moisture keeps rain chances elevated through the end of the week and into the holiday weekend.

Today will be mostly cloudy, breezy and humid with scattered showers early, then a better chance for showers and storms after 10 a.m.

Highs climb near 89, but it will feel closer to 102 at times.

Rain coverage increases again Friday and Saturday, especially during the afternoon and evening hours, with highs in the low 90s and heat index values up to around 106 Friday.

The big headline is beneficial rainfall, but some downpours could be heavy at times.

Most neighborhoods can expect around a quarter inch to just over an inch of rain through Friday night, but inland northeast Florida could see locally higher totals of 3 to 4 inches.

That means slick roads, ponding, and localized flooding will be possible, especially in poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Beach conditions remain rough with a high risk of rip currents along the Atlantic coast, so swimming is not advised unless you are near a lifeguard. The Labor Day forecast stays stormy with rain chances near 80%, so keep the umbrella close and have an indoor backup plan
