TAMPA, Fla. (WWSB) – Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Republican candidate for governor Byron Donalds appeared together Thursday at a GOP leadership forum in Tampa.
Donalds spoke about his goals for the state during the event.
“We have one goal, and that goal is for the free state of Florida to remain the free state of Florida,” Donalds said. “A lot of the issues that we’re talking about up here on this stage, this isn’t just talking points for this event.”

“These are policy ideas that have to be implemented, have to be completed,” Donalds said.
Donalds will face Florida’s Democratic candidate for governor, David Jolly, in the race. Jolly recently gave his thoughts on issues impacting Floridians.
“Frankly, I think the race still comes down to affordability and to data centers,” Jolly said. “Everywhere I go, I say housing, health care, education, and no to data centers. That’s it. That’s the entire policy platform of this race.”
