Three people including a husband and wife are facing charges in connection with an undercover operation in Miami targeting the sale of counterfeit clothing and testosterone, authorities said.
Yeinys Rodriguez-Canizares, 33, and Roynel Matos, 44, who are married, and Yassel Darboys, 40, were arrested Wednesday following a joint investigation involving Miami Police, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office and Homeland Security Investigations.
Roynel Matos and Yeinys Rodriguez-Canizares appeared in bond court on Sept. 3, 2026.
According to arrest reports, authorities began making undercover purchases at a store on Northwest 7th Street.
In March, they bought Amiri branded clothing from Matos at the store for $970, and in April bought Amiri-branded shoes from Matos and Rodriguez-Canizares for $1,100, the reports said.
The items were later determined to be counterfeit, authorities said.
In May, authorities arranged to buy testosterone cypionate with Matos over the phone, and bought it in person from Darboys for $300, the reports said.
Last month, authorities made a similar purchase of testosterone for $540, the reports said.
According to the reports, the suspects used the store and a corporation in the “enterprise,” and Matos also owns and operates multiple accident clinics.
While conducting surveillance at one of the clinics on Coral Way, authorities didn’t see anyone inside over the course of several hours, the reports said.
Investigators also obtained bank records that showed Matos was sending wire transfers to Turkey dating back to 2022, the reports said.
There were 171 wire transfers and the wire purpose code on several transfers had their codes altered and mischaracterized from “invoice payment” to “gift or donation,” the reports said.
The outgoing wire transfers totaled over $815,000 the reports said.
Matos and Rodriguez-Canizares face charges including money laundering, racketeering, sale or possession of a controlled substance and counterfeiting.
Darboys faces racketeering and sale or possession of a controlled substance charges.
