Officers conducted a traffic stop for an expired tag in the 6000 block of Crandon Boulevard. While speaking with the driver and occupants, officers observed an AR-15 rifle in plain view. A search of the vehicle located suspected marijuana, though officers were unable to determine its ownership. The driver was issued a citation, and the suspected marijuana was seized. KB-26-0792.

Traffic enforcement was conducted in the 6200 block of Crandon Boulevard, resulting in three citations and two warnings.

Police responded to a report of a vehicle striking the guard gate in Key Colony. Officers contacted the complainant, who had already spoken with Key Colony management and advised that police assistance was no longer needed.

The victim contacted police from the 200 block of Sunrise Drive regarding an $800 Rigid table saw stolen by an unknown suspect or suspects. KBPD detectives investigated the incident, identified a suspect and took the person into custody in Hialeah on Aug. 26. KB-26-0793.

A complainant contacted police from the 200 block of Ocean Lane Drive after their bicycle was removed by administration for not having a sticker. The complainant was advised to allow time for the administration to recover the property. A report was completed to document the incident, and a case number was provided. KB-26-0794.

Officers conducted traffic enforcement at Crandon Boulevard and Sonesta Drive for pedestrian crosswalk violations, issuing three citations.

August 25, 2026

Units conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of Crandon Boulevard and issued a citation.

Officers responded to a dispute over house cleaning services in the 100 block of Ocean Lane Drive. The parties were contacted, and the dispute was settled at the scene. KB-26-0797.

Police were dispatched to a traffic crash in the 100 block of Crandon Boulevard. One of the parties reported a minor sprain but declined medical attention. Officers completed a traffic crash report. KB-26-0798.

A business alarm brought officers to the 50 block of Harbor Drive. Police checked the business, and all appeared secure.

Authorities conducted a welfare check in the 70 block of Crandon Boulevard. Officers contacted the person in question and cleared the scene.

Authorities responded to the Shell gas station in the 70 block of Crandon Boulevard regarding a man panhandling. Officers contacted the man, completed a records check and he left the area without further incident.

August 29, 2026

Officers responded to a loud noise complaint in the 200 block of Crandon Boulevard. Upon arrival, police did not hear any violation.

Police issued a parking citation to a vehicle obstructing traffic in the 200 block of Galen Drive.

KBPD assisted the City of Miami and MDSO with a traffic crash involving a cyclist at the Rickenbacker Toll Plaza. KB-26-0805.

While on patrol at Mashta Bridge, officers contacted a group of juveniles fishing from the bridge. The juveniles were advised of the village ordinance and left the area without further incident.

August 30, 2026

Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of Allendale Road and issued a citation.

Traffic enforcement was conducted in the 6200 block of Crandon Boulevard, resulting in five citations.

KBPD’s Marine Unit assisted MDSO Marine Patrol with a call on the waterway.

The victim contacted police from the 400 block of Grand Bay Drive after discovering that belongings stored in a locker while receiving a massage had been moved. The victim also noticed their golf cart key was missing. Officers provided a case card. KB-26-0807.

Police were contacted regarding three unknown male suspects who allegedly threw eggs at juvenile victims near Fernwood Road and W. McIntyre Street. The victims were not injured. The incident was reported the following day, and the victims’ parents were on scene and provided with a case number. KB-26-0808.

A traffic stop for speeding was completed in the 30 block of Crandon Boulevard, and the driver was issued a citation.
