MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — The Palm City woman behind the stunning Border Collie hoarding investigation has posted bond and been released from jail, according to Martin County court documents.

Records show that Paige O’Donnell, 62, posted a $500 surety bond, and was released from prison on Monday. O’Donnell is facing 72 charges: 36 third-degree felony counts involving alleged animal cruelty and 36 misdemeanor counts alleging animals were kept without sufficient exercise and air.

Last month, O’Donnell — a former dog breeder — was at the center of attention after 36 Border Collies were recovered from her Palm City home in deplorable conditions. The dogs have since been legally surrendered to the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast, and adoption applications opened on Tuesday.

O’Donnell’s attorney filed a waiver of appearance for her at the pre-trial hearings and entered a plea of not guilty to the charges. At this time, no future court dates are listed.
