I was very impressed by the article “Chief’s Corner” written by Chief Sousa and published on Aug. 26 in Islander News. His explanation of the LPR cameras and other police activities to protect the residents was very detailed and clear.

We lived in New Orleans, San Francisco, Atlanta and Greenwich, Conn., when living conditions were good and safe all over the country. We made the decision to come to Key Biscayne 37 years ago and that was the best decision we ever made.

Our experience is that Key Biscayne is second to none. The services provided by the various groups, police, fire department, community, etc., have always been good and they continue to improve year after year.

All the residents should be happy for all the police activities which are always implemented to protect the community and the residents.

Our thanks and gratitude to Chief Sousa and his staff for their dedication and effort to protect all of us as much as possible.
