Driver airlifted to trauma center after car crashes into tree on I-95 in Palm City

PALM CITY, Fla. —
A driver involved in a single-car rollover crash Friday night was flown to the hospital with traumatic injuries by LifeStar after crashing into a palm tree, Martin County Fire Rescue said.

The crash occurred just after 6:15 p.m. on Interstate 95 southbound near the High Meadows exit, which is Mile Marker 102, in Palm City, and near Florida’s Turnpike.

MCFR’s special operations team worked to extricate the driver from their car, which had rolled over onto its side.
No other vehicles were involved in the collision.
The driver’s condition wasn’t reported.
The nearest trauma center is HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce, which is 26 miles north. The closest Level 1 trauma center is St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, about 38 miles south.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Highway Patrol also responded.

All lanes of Interstate 95 southbound have been reopened.
