Swansboro 20, White Oak 12

Austin Zoeckler completed 11 of 14 passes for 99 yards and a touchdown and Anthony Anderson ran for 93 yards on 19 carries as host Swansboro topped White Oak.

Zoeckler threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Jaydon Glasson to give the Pirates a 7-0 first-quarter lead. Eric Gonzalez added a 1-yard touchdown to make it 14-6 late in the second quarter while Cameron Nilson made a pair of second-half field goals.

Nilson’s 40-yard field goal late in the third extended Swansboro’s lead to 17-6 while his late fourth-quarter kick made it 20-12.

Carmello Beasley had a third-quarter interception in the end zone for the Pirates.

Swansboro is 3-0 for the first time since 2019 following it’s first win over White Oak since the 2021 spring season. The Vikings had won the last eight meetings.

Tony Hendricks rushed for 184 yards on 19 carries and scored on runs of 24 and 46 yards for the Vikings, who now lead the series with the Pirates 33-10-1.

Swansboro (3-0) visits East Carteret next week while White Oak (1-1) hosts Kinston. 

East Duplin 34, Richlands 13

Noah LeBlanc rushed for 130 yards and three touchdowns on just 10 carries in host East Duplin’s victory over Richlands.

LeBlanc’s 3-yard touchdown extended the Panthers lead to 14-0 in the second quarter while his 38-yard score later in the period made it 21-0. He added a 35-yard run in the fourth.

Esiah Bennerman added 63 yards rushing on seven carries while Keeshon McKinnie added an 11-yard touchdown in the first quarter while Zachary Cruz had a 4-yard touchdown in the fourth.

Richlands’ Camden Warren returned a fumble 43 yards for a touchdown to bring the Wildcats to within 21-7 in the second while Baylee Rathe added a 1-yard score in the fourth.

Hayes Lanier made nine tackles, James Matas had eight tackles, three for loss, and a sack, McKinnie hade nine tackles and Blake Shuddekopf had six tackles and a sack for East Duplin.

The Panthers have won two straight games over the Wildcats and leads the series 40-20-1.

East Duplin (3-0) hosts James Kenan next week while Richlands (1-2) visits South Brunswick. 

Croatan 45, Southwest 22

Croatan took a 14-0 first-quarter lead and never looked back as the Cougars won at Southwest.

Kannon McBride scored a rushing touchdown to make it 14-0. He added another scoring run to make it 28-6 and threw a scoring pass to Antoine Blunt to make it 35-6.

The Cougars have won three straight over the Stallions and are 3-0 for the fourth consecutive season.

Ton Bolden rushed for 227 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries for the Stallions, who are 0-3 for the sixth consecutive season.

Croatan (3-0) hosts Washington next week while Southwest (0-3) visits Dixon. 

Northside 46, Topsail 16

Reginald Gray III threw four touchdown passes as host Northside was too strong for Topsail.

Gray found Evan Wanga for 45 yards to extend the Monarchs’ lead to 27-9. He then found Gavyn Davis for a 23-yard score and an 80-yard score.

Rahlai Anderson and Zion Jones each added two touchdowns while for the Monarchs, who now lead the series with the Pirates 6-0.

Northside (2-0) visit New Hanover next week while Topsail (1-2) hosts Jacksonville. 

Dixon 36, Hobbton 30

Dixon won its second consecutive game as the Bulldogs held off Hobbton.

The game was tied at 22-22 at halftime, but the Bulldogs built a 36-22 lead entering the fourth quarter.

Aiden Tilley rushed for three touchdowns while Lonnie Stowers ran for two touchdowns and three two-point conversions for Dixon, which compiled 381 yards on the ground.

The Bulldogs now lead the series with Hobbton 5-0 with their other wins coming in 1987, 1988, 1993 and 2025.

Dixon (2-1) hosts Southwest next week while Hobbton (0-3) visits Rosewood. 

Liberty Christian 38, Sandhills Classical 28

Eddie Deptola rushed for five touchdowns as Liberty Christian Academy earned a road win at nemesis Sandhills Classical Christian.

Deptola also had four two-point conversions while running behind the blocking of Ledger Lewis, Tanner Lancaster, Eli Arnette, Hudson Tieman and Hayden Chambers.

Caleb Malpass had two sacks and Eli Arnette and Noah Horne each had a sack for the Heat, which lost two games to Sandhills last year, including in the conference championship game.

Liberty (3-0) has an open date next week and hosts Father Capodanno on Sept. 18 while Sandhills (1-1) visits Community Christian. 

South Lenoir 20, Lejeune 14

Visiting Lejeune raced to a 14-0 first-quarter lead, but ran out of gas as the Devilpups fell at South Lenoir.

Grady Mahaffey had a 65-yard touchdown run and then found Cameron Ruud for a 1 2-yard score to make it 14-0.

Lejeune (0-2) hosts Union next week while South Lenoir (3-0) hosts Eastern Wayne.
