Scattered storms possible for Labor Day weekend
FORT MYERS, Fla. —
Storms are possible each day this Labor Day weekend on the Gulf Coast, and Saturday has the best chance to see storms.
Your Gulf Coast Weather Most Accurate Forecast calls for a little bit of coastal rain early on Saturday before more widespread rain develops in the afternoon and evening hours. Coverage will favor areas along and east of I-75 as the day progresses.
Storms may bring frequent lightning and gusty winds later in the day. Heavy rainfall will also contribute to a minor flooding risk for parts of the Gulf Coast, especially in places that have already seen a lot of rain over the last several days.
Rain chances lower slightly on Sunday and Monday, but scattered storms are still possible.
In the tropics, no development is expected over the next seven days even as we approach the peak of hurricane season on Thursday.
