TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Scattered storm chances stick around for the rest of the holiday weekend, and a few storms could pack a punch. Meteorologist Cameron Aaron has the latest.
Tonight Through Sunday Night
Spotty showers are possible for Saturday evening, but rain chances are not widespread. The activity will start to weaken and fade away after sunset. A stray shower is possible during the overnight, mainly near the coast. However, most are dry and warm. Lows settle in the low-to-mid-70s under a mostly clear sky. Some patchy fog is possible.
Another warm day is on tap for Sunday. Highs climb into the low-and-mid-90s under a mix of Sun and clouds. The first half of the day looks mostly quiet, but we are tracking a better rain and storm chance during the late afternoon and evening.
A few storms could be strong. A Level 1 Marginal risk of severe weather is in place for places along and north of I-10. The main threat will be gusty winds. Have that free First Alert Weather app, just in case.
Overnight lows settle in the low-to-mid-70s for Sunday night under a partly cloudy sky. Again, some fog is possible.
Labor Day Forecast
Scattered showers and thunderstorms linger into Labor Day Monday. Is it going to rain for the entire day? No, but you may need the umbrella at times.
Highs top out in the low-90s under a partly cloudy sky.
Spotty showers are possible for Monday evening, so stay weather aware if you’re heading to the SMU/FSU football game.
We are expecting a drying trend after sunset as lows dip into the low-and-mid-70s.
Extended Forecast
Storm chances are not going away through the middle of next week.
Scattered showers and storms are possible on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Again, we are not anticipating a constant rain, but pack the umbrella and that First Alert Weather app.
Because of the showers, temperatures are not so bad. We hover in the low-90s under a partly cloudy sky.
Lows fall into the low-and-mid-70s.
