An off-duty Miami-Dade deputy was taken to the hospital on after his car was hit by lightning in Doral on Thursday, officials said
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived in the area of Northwest 93rd Avenue and 41st Street after the off-duty deputy was having a medical emergency.
MDSO said that the deputy was sitting inside his vehicle while he was working an off-duty assignment when the vehicle was struck by lightning.
The deputy was taken to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital in stable condition.
His identity was not released.
