The Fort Lauderdale Police Department celebrates the opening of its new $165 million headquarters at 1300 W. Broward Blvd. on Wednesday with a public ribbon-cutting ceremony. The modern, three-story, 191,000-square-foot facility replaces a 1958 structure, reuniting department staff previously spread across leased buildings and substations. The new site features a state-of-the-art crime lab, evidence storage, and modern training space following a project funded by a voter-approved bond.
