When Saharan Dust may arrive in South Florida

Showers and storms moving north today

Glenn Glazer

Tropical moisture continues to move into South Florida, creating very humid conditions.

High temperatures will reach the low 90s this afternoon, with the heat index in the low 100s under partly cloudy skies.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop and move from southeast to northwest through the afternoon into the early evening hours.

Although much of the rainfall will be farther inland, there is still a chance for showers and storms along the east coast. Any thunderstorms that develop could be strong.

Tonight, rainfall will slowly decrease through the evening hours, but some coastal rainfall is possible overnight. Low temperatures will be in the 70s, but a few low 80s are possible along the Palm Beach County coast. Winds will stay light out of the southeast.
