Pura Vida Miami opens its first Tampa Bay spot today at 1038 Water St. in the Water Street area. The 3,400-square-foot cafe marks the 57th shop for the South Florida wellness chain.

Hours run Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Customers can order for delivery or pickup.

Omer Horev founded the fast-casual chain, which serves a seed-oil-free menu with items like avocado toast, salads, eggs, protein plates, smoothies, açaí, coffee, and matcha. Wild seafood, grass-fed steak, sandwiches, wraps, pressed juices, and a kids menu round out what’s offered.

“For us, growth has always been about finding the right communities where Pura Vida can genuinely become part of people’s everyday lives,” said Horev in a statement, per That’s So Tampa. “Tampa has been one of those markets for us for a long time.”

The Water Street shop features the fall menu additions, including Steak & Eggs, the Breakfast Burrito, Scallion & Feta Omelette, Fennel Pistachio salad, Miami Vice Smoothie, and seasonal Pumpkin Spice Cloud.

Horev started the business in 2012 as a small neighborhood cafe. A husband and wife duo ran it then. The company opened its 50th shop this spring in New Jersey.

“There’s an incredible energy here and a strong sense of community that we believe in,” said Horev. “We see the opportunity to build something lasting in Tampa Bay, and this opening is only the beginning of what we hope to establish here.”

The new spot occupies where Dwell & Company used to be. Indoor and outdoor seating fill the space, which incorporates natural materials, warm finishes, custom millwork, and greenery.

Another shop is planned for Midtown Tampa. The expansion represents the chain’s entry into the Tampa Bay market after building a presence throughout South Florida.
