A man accused of swinging a baseball bat at another driver during a road-rage encounter in Miami-Dade is facing charges, authorities said.
The incident happened Thursday afternoon in the area of Southwest 147th Avenue and Southwest 104th Street.
Authorities responded and met the victim, who said he was involved in a road-rage incident with the other man and said they both got out of their vehicles, an arrest report said.
The victim said the other driver got out holding a baseball bat which he swung at him, hitting him in the arm, the report said.
He said in self-defense he punched the suspect twice, knocking him to the ground.
The suspect, 72-year-old Carlos Enrique Azuero, admitted to hitting the man with the bat and said he was punched several times, the report said.
Both refused treatment at the scene but Azuero was later taken to a hospital for medical clearance.
Azuero was found to be the primary aggressor and was arrested and booked into jail on an aggravated battery with a deadly weapon charge, the report said.
