A first-time father in Florida delivered his baby girl at a pawn shop parking lot after his partner went into labor early
The man called 911 and helped deliver the breech baby before an ambulance arrived minutes later in Brandon
The mom and the baby are both doing well
A first-time father delivered his partner’s baby girl when she came unexpectedly early — in the parking lot of a local pawn shop in Florida.
Yasser Solorzano was rushing his partner, Aysha Tenouri, to a hospital in Hillsborough County after she went into labor Thursday, Sept. 3, according to local news outlet Fox 13.
However, the couple soon realized that the baby wasn’t going to wait.
“We were about five minutes from the house, and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh — it’s coming right now,’ ” Aysha recalled to the outlet from her hospital room a day after the incident. ” ‘The baby’s head is about to come out, pull over.’ “
“Sure enough, I’m starting to see something come out,” Yasser added. “At that point, I quickly go into the first parking lot that I find, which happens to be the pawn shop.”
Yasser, who had pulled into the parking lot of a Value Pawn & Jewelry, called 911, but he quickly realized the baby was breech. However, he maintained his composure and helped Aysha through the next several minutes.
“He was very calm, very supportive and helped me relax,” Aysha said. “We got through it really smoothly.”

An ambulance arrived six minutes later, but by that point the couple’s baby girl — who was almost four weeks early — had already arrived. She was then rushed to a hospital for care.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
“I will be honest, I thought we had the time to name her,” Yasser told Fox 13. “Today was the day we named her.”
The baby — named Liana Valentina Solorzano — weighed just 4 lbs., 10 oz.
Both baby and mom are doing well.
The couple said they were feeling extremely grateful that everything turned out okay, despite the harrowing and early delivery.

“You can only be thankful for how smooth it really turned out to be,” Yasser said. “That’s something I’m very grateful about.”
“[I’m] very grateful that everything is okay, and we’re both healthy. Liana didn’t even need the NICU. She’s been here with me the entire time,” Aysha said.
