Hundreds gathered in Ybor City last night to honor the victims of the devastating crash that occurred early Saturday morning outside Bradley’s on 7th, where a speeding car careened into the popular gay bar’s patio, killing four people and injuring eleven others.

The candlelight vigil began at 7PM and stretched well into the evening, drawing friends, loved ones, and community members from across Tampa Bay. The crowd filled the sidewalk and spilled into 7th Avenue, holding candles, flowers, and one another as they reflected on the tragedy that shook one of the region’s most cherished LGBTQ+ spaces. Bradley’s on 7th, a cornerstone of Ybor’s nightlife for over a decade, has long been considered a haven for self-expression and safety, making the loss all the more painful for those who call it a second home.

Among those in attendance was local performer and Big Gay Radio Show co-host Esmé Russell, who was present at Bradley’s during the crash and returned for the vigil to stand with her community. Though still shaken by the events, Esmé shared her gratitude for the outpouring of support and the bravery of those who rushed to help in the immediate aftermath. The Big Gay Radio Show team confirmed she is safe and recovering emotionally with loved ones.

Throughout the evening, candles illuminated faces streaked with tears as the crowd observed several moments of silence in memory of the four victims. Attendees placed flowers and candles along the building’s exterior, transforming the familiar venue into a space of collective mourning and reflection.

City officials, community organizers, and bar staff joined the vigil, many calling for compassion and unity in the days ahead. As the final candles flickered out, the mood shifted from sorrow to solidarity. The people of Ybor stood together, reminded of their strength and resilience in the face of tragedy. Bradley’s on 7th has announced it will remain closed until 4PM, Monday, November 10th, as staff and patrons continue to process the event, but the spirit of the community endures, unwavering, united, and full of love.
