Ground depression shuts down eastbound lanes of Welch Road in Apopka, city officials say
APOPKA, Fla. —
A ground depression has closed the eastbound lanes of Welch Road east of Rock Springs Road, according to Apopka city officials.
Officials said the depression was caused by a 12-inch water main break.
The incident is affecting approximately 200 homes in the Parkview and Wekiva Glen subdivisions.
Crews are working to repair the roadway Monday morning and expect the closure to last several hours.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes. Motorists traveling nearby should use caution and watch for emergency vehicles.
