DORAL, Fla. (WKRC) – A Florida man was arrested after a couple allegedly discovered him hiding underneath their hotel room bed while they slept.
Ritchel Calvaire, 25, faces charges of burglary of an occupied dwelling and resisting an officer without violence following the Sept. 10 incident at the Provident Doral hotel, according to court records, as reported by PEOPLE.
The couple checked into the room the previous day and went to sleep after closing the blinds near a rear sliding glass door, according to an arrest affidavit.
The woman told investigators she felt movement near the bed around 4 a.m. but went back to sleep. She said she felt movement underneath the bed again around 6:30 a.m.
About an hour later, the woman looked under the bed while checking to make sure she had not misplaced any belongings.
That’s when she allegedly discovered Calvaire hiding underneath.
The couple immediately left the room and contacted hotel security.
Police allege Calvaire had entered the occupied room by climbing over a balcony fence and going through the rear sliding glass door before concealing himself beneath the bed.
According to the affidavit, Calvaire had previously stayed at the hotel but checked out Aug. 31. Hotel management later instructed him not to return, and he had previously been escorted from the property after coming back to retrieve belongings.
Calvaire was arrested Sept. 10.
