Demolition of what began as the Southeast’s largest enclosed and air conditioned shopping mall began Sunday.
By the time demolition is completed, Regency Square Mall might be circling the 60th anniversary of its grand opening on March 2, 1966.
The city issued a permit Aug. 28 for Realco Recycling Co. Inc. to demolish the East Mall between Impact Church and the former JC Penney department store at the 9501 Arlington Expresssway property.
