AKRON, Ohio — The Akron women’s soccer team will travel southwest to Oxford to face Miami in their MAC opener on Thursday, September 17. The match is set for 7 p.m.
The Zips come into the match with a 4-3 record, highlighted by a 4-0 victory over Mercyhurst last Thursday. Four different players scored for Akron, and Sara Bower and Freya Blatz split halves in net.
Miami sports a 4-4 record and recorded a 3-0 win over Western Carolina at home last Friday. Three different players scored in a match in which a combined 31 shots were attempted. The RedHawks lead the all-time series, 16-9-4, and Miami came away with a 1-0 victory vs. the Zips last season. Akron is searching for their first win in the series since 2021.
