PLANTATION, Fla, — Plantation High School was placed on lockdown Thursday after a large fight and a report of a person armed with a gun, the Plantation Police Department said in a Facebook advisory.
Officers responded to the school at 6901 NW 16th St. and were “actively” searching the campus as of 1:30 p.m. to determine whether a weapon had been brought onto school grounds, police said.
Sky 10 flew over the scene at about 1:20 p.m. as police established a perimeter around the school. Police said no one was allowed to enter or leave the area while the search was underway.
The police department did not provide additional details about the reported weapon or whether anyone was injured in the advisory.
