A late-night crash on U.S. 82 in Tuscaloosa County has left a 24-year-old Florida woman dead, authorities said.

A two-vehicle crash occurred at about 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, near the 59 mile marker on U.S. 82, about five miles east of Tuscaloosa, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Troopers said Ariel S. Burcham, 24, of Valrico, Florida, was killed when the 2026 Kia K4 she was driving collided head-on with a 2013 Ford F-150 pickup. Burcham was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck was injured and taken to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa for treatment.

Nothing further was available as troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
