(Tampa, FL) – Former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Warren Sapp is accused of disrupting a Tampa City Council meeting. According to the Tampa Bay Times, the Hall of Fame defensive lineman entered city hall yesterday afternoon and went into an office that’s next to the city council chambers. According to Sapp he was at City Hall to pick up “some paperwork.”

Council Chair Alan Clendenin paused the meeting and asked that the doors to the chambers be locked, according to the Times. The meeting was paused again a few minutes later, and Sapp was ordered to leave the building, but he refused. Police responded, but no arrest was announced.

Tampa Bay Police statement:

“The Tampa Police Department, in a statement to the Tampa Bay Times, said, “This afternoon Warren Sapp went to City Council Chambers. Council found him to be out of order by creating a disturbance and requested him to be trespassed for the day. Officers responded and asked Sapp to leave.”
