TULSA, Okla. — You perhaps know him from the sketch show “MadTV” and the movie “Evolution”, but now you can experience his comedy in person.

Orlando Jones will be performing at the Loony Bin Comedy Club, located at 6808 South Memorial Drive, today and Saturday.

“I think the world’s in a crazy place and it’s just sort of fun to talk about it,” says Jones. “And as a kid who grew up in the Bible Belt in the deep south, I just love to kind of come back and talk about what life looks like and the difference between what it is now.”

Jones says it’s been quite the life for himself as he says he is consistently recognized as not himself.

“I’ve been Mos Def a couple times. I’m the little boy{‘s dad] from ‘Everybody Hates Chris’ who’s now the man on ‘Abbott Elementary’. This is my craziness.” says Jones.

Before he was known for his roles on screen, Jones worked behind the scene on TV shows. He wrote the pilot episode of the show “Martin” and wrote for other shows like “Roc” and “A Different World”.

“I’ve been writing and producing in Hollywood for about 30 years.” says Jones.

During his tenure on MadTV, Jones called it a crazy time. He lived with fellow cast member Artie Lang and still remains in contact with him today.

“That’s my brother.” he says.

Jones’ shows at the Loony Bin Comedy Club are tonight at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 6 and 8 p.m. Tickets start at $29. To purchase them, you can go here.
