Volunteers, traditionally, have helped community farmers markets thrive.

Now, local high school or college students can actually get paid to help.

Miami-Dade County Commissioner Raquel Regalado is seeking students to help staff local farmers market booths on weekends, including the Key Biscayne Farmers Market, a Saturday tradition on the grounds of the Key Biscayne Community Church.

Farmers Markets that need coverage:

• Key Biscayne

• Coconut Grove

• Vizcaya

“We’re building a small team that can rotate and share weekend coverage across these locations,” Regalado wrote in a news release. “This is a paid position.”

Who is eligible:

• High school or college students

• Ages 14 and older

• Responsible and able to manage their own time

Responsibilities:

• Set up the tent, table and chairs

• Staff the booth for the full market
