TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV/Florida Capitol Bureau) – The Florida Bar released this year’s exam results for first-time takers of the July examination.
In total, the Florida Supreme Court approved 1,700 candidates for admission to the Florida Bar in 2026.
According to the Florida Bar, this is just one step required before candidates are granted full admission to the Florida Bar.
A lower number of applicants passed overall this year in comparison to the last few years, but some Florida universities showed improvement.
About 80% of first-time takers from FAMU’s College of Law passed the exam, improving from about 76% of students who passed last year.
On the other hand, 91.8% of first-time takers from FSU’s College of Law passed the exam, an increase from last year’s 89% pass rate.
However, not every Florida university has experienced this positive trend.
UF’s College of Law students saw 90.9% of first-time takers pass the exam, which is lower than the nearly 93% who passed last year.
The Cooley Law School, located in Tampa, had about 39% of students pass the exam this year, an increase from the 31% who passed last year.
The full press release with the list of applicants from every Florida university that had first-time test takers is attached here.
