Opportunity to give back remains a motivation for Jags edge Travon Walker

  • September 19, 2026

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jaguars defensive end Travon Walker spent part of his Monday giving back to local students, helping pack 500 bags of food for children at North Shore Elementary School.

The Travon Walker Foundation teamed up with Blessings in a Backpack and Gator Bowl Charities for the event, aimed at helping fill the weekend hunger gap for students who rely on meals provided at school.

“Giving back to the community has always been a big part of me ever since I stepped into the NFL,” Walker said. “I really just want to impact the community in whatever way that I can.”

Walker joined volunteers in packing the bags and wrote handwritten messages of encouragement to include with the food. He said organizers provided examples of what he could write, but he quickly found himself writing his own messages.

“Once I got started, it really started to hit me,” Walker said. “I just started free writing whatever came to my mind, obviously, because it comes from the heart.”

The event came one day after the Jaguars picked up their first victory of the season.

“We’re coming off of a victory Monday, which couldn’t be better, but I think we’re really winning off the field in the community impact,” said Brynlee Forik, founder and CEO of Pro•VII•sion.

This marks the second straight year the Travon Walker Foundation has worked with Blessings in a Backpack. Forik said the organization’s mission is especially important because of the roughly 65-hour gap between when students leave school for the weekend and return Monday.

Walker also presented a $5,000 check to Blessings in a Backpack during the event.

The 500 packed bags were scheduled to be delivered to North Shore Elementary School and handed out to students Friday.

For Walker, the opportunity to give back isn’t about recognition.

“I don’t do it for none of the media coverage, none of that,” Walker said. “I just solely do it based off of my heart, my personality.”
