JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – A court date has been set for a man who slapped a police horse during last weekend’s Florida-Georgia game.
38-year-old Ritchie Ward will be arraigned later this month.
Jacksonville sheriff’s deputies say last week, he walked up to a deputy on horseback and slapped the equine’s behind.
Deputies say the police horse, named “Ace”, was in distress after the smack and Ward was put in cuffs shortly after.
