ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — If you’ve wanted to visit ten of St. Petersburg’s top museums without paying for tickets, Saturday, Sept. 19 is your chance.

The St. Petersburg Arts Alliance is hosting its annual Free Museum Day, which the group calls “an annual celebration of arts, culture, and community.”

The St. Petersburg Arts Alliance began hosting Free Museum Day in 2023 after the nationwide Smithsonian Magazine Museum Day program ended. The city’s inaugural Free Museum Day included just four locations.

St. Pete’s initiative is expanding again this year. For the first time, visitors with proof of admission to a participating museum may be eligible for exclusive offers at stores, restaurants, and other local businesses.

Some museums may require visitors to set up a time or register in advance, so organizers encourage you to check before you go.
