TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The muggy meter is high again today. Some fall-like changes are ahead. Are you ready for it?
Warm and humid Sunday
We will be stuck in a summer-like weather pattern with highs back in the low 90’s as we wrap up the weekend. Most of the day will be dry. However, scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will develop this afternoon and evening. Rain coverage will be hit or miss mainly between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m., with the highest chance of rain around dinner.

Monday through Wednesday, the weather pattern does not shift much. Low pressure in the upper atmosphere is spinning off the western Florida coast. That will keep a summer-like pattern around through midweek. This means warm and humid, with periodic afternoon showers and storms. Most of your daytime hours will be mostly to partly sunny, with showers developing in the afternoon and wrapping up by 8 or 9 p.m.

A cold front will bring in cooler and drier air on Thursday and will stick around for next weekend. Highs will fall into the upper 80s, which is normal for late September. Morning lows will fall slightly below average in the upper 60s, feeling a bit more refreshing after some humid mornings this week. Plenty of sunshine too will make for a really nice end to the week and weekend.

Tracking the tropics
Fay has formed in the Northern Atlantic and will stay thousands of miles away from the lower 48. The tropical storm is not expected to reach hurricane strength and will weaken by Tuesday.

Tropical storm Fay is the sixth named storm of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season. The season has been below average so far and ends November 30.
