Open Division
St. Thomas Aquinas remains the top-ranked team in the country and moved back ahead of IMG in the latest Florida MaxPreps rankings used to select teams for the Open Division, even after IMG overcame a 17-point halftime deficit in a 48-27 win over The First Academy. They are followed by No. 3 Miami Columbus, No. 4 West Boca, No. 5 Chaminade-Madonna, No. 6 Cardinal Newman, No. 7 The First Academy, No. 8 Venice and No. 9 Lakeland.
American Heritage fell out of the Open Division top 8 to No. 15 after its 21-16 loss to Lakeland. Because IMG Academy is ineligible for the eight-team Open Division playoffs, Lakeland (3-1) remains in the eighth and final playoff spot.
