• Happy to see that Fort Lauderdale will start fining residents who can’t put away their trash cans in a timely manner. On my busy street, neighbors put their trash cans out the morning of the day before pickup and some will leave them out all week. Certainly not what you would expect from the City Beautiful. It looks like one trashy neighborhood.
• It ticks me off that the Tampa Bay Bucs were so desperate that they fell for their current quarterback’s contract negotiation tactics. He just received a massive $165 million contract through the 2029 season. The fans’ reward is zero wins, one interception and three fumbles so far this year. Buyer’s remorse in full effect!
• I am ticked off at people who are angry at capitalism and big corporations, and day after day they receive boxes at home from stuff they have bought from these companies that they hate. Did you ever stop to think that maybe you should stop buying stuff? When you buy stuff, you increase these companies’ profits. So if you really don’t like capitalism, then stop buying things.
The flip side
• Congratulations to Eric Jacobsen and the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra for a very creative concert Sunday afternoon. The way Eric segued a well-known Stravinsky piece into a Duke Ellington piece, and later on another Stravinsky piece into Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” was absolutely incredible. Thank you.
